I am Looking for Howard Countians to Photograph

Hi, my name is David Hobby. I'm a professional editorial photographer, and have been based in Howard County for the last 30 years. I am always looking for interesting people to photograph. If I handed you a business card that led you to this non-public page, that means I would be interested in photographing you.

I publish Strobist.com, a website that teaches photographic lighting and is one of the most widely read photography sites in the world. I make the photographs that illustrate the educational posts on Strobist, so I am constantly looking for opportunities to collaborate with local people to create those photos.

If we shoot together, my only rule is that we go all in to try to create something cool. It is important to note that there is zero cost to you. I will also provide you with high-resolution image files that you may use in any way that you like.

The photo at top is of cellist Caleb Vaughn-Jones, and was shot at Centennial Lake in Ellicott City. Please scroll down to see other examples of work I have done with other Howard Countians to get a sense of what you can expect. You don't have to be famous, or an artist, or anything like that. I want to photograph people from all walks of life. We'll find something relevant to who you are as a person when we work together to create our picture.
