Hello!

If you have arrived at this non-public page, it is probably because a mentor sent you a link along with some cryptic words about a photo session. Or perhaps I handed you a business card after a local performance.

My name is David Hobby. For the past 30 years, I have been an editorial and commercial photographer based in Howard County, Maryland. Between assignments, one of my ongoing projects is to photograph local emerging artists.

Photographing performing artists is a small way to give back to a community of talented and dedicated people who bring so much to the world around them. Locally in HoCo, I have worked with the Howard County Arts Council and other organizations in this capacity for the past ten years.

The photo sessions are by invitation only, and there is absolutely no charge. We shoot in safe environments, and chaperones are encouraged to attend. After the shoot, you are free to use the photos in any way you wish, with no restrictions. After all, the idea behind these shoots is help build visual assets for people who have been identified by community arts leaders as having both promise and dedication to their craft.

Thanks for looking. If you are interested, please contact me via email or Twitter. I look forward to collaborating.

Sincerely,
