Smells Like Spring
A garter snake sniffs the air with his tongue as it emerges to sun itself on a 60-degree February afternoon. He was nestled in a crack of the sidewalk on Gray Rock Dr. in Ellicott City, giving him easy access to both the sun-warmed concrete and his underground winter residence.
