Jillian Fader glides underwater at the start of her 50-yard backstroke race, which she won. Fader, 18, swims for the Owen Brown Barracudas where she is also a coach. Neighborhood swim meets are a summer tradition in Howard County, with swimmers as young as four years old competing for ribbons and bragging rights.
